Appreciate the vibrant colours and aromas of traditional Mexican dishes, contemplate the bouquet of locally grown wine and relish the range of textures and flavours of organically produced cheeses. See the main sights of Mexico City and adventure out on a boat ride in the canals of Xochimilco. All of this, plus Mexico’s lively culture, mariachi scene and historic relics, make for a trip you will always remember.

DAY 1 // ARRIVE MEXICO CITY

Upon arrival at Mexico City International Airport, a Destination Services team member awaits you for pick-up and transfer to your hotel in downtown Mexico City. Enjoy the remainder of the day at leisure.

DAY 2 // MEXICO CITY: CITY TOUR, ANTHROPOLOGICAL MUSEUM & PLAZA GARIBALDI

Breakfast at the hotel is followed by a city tour of the capital in the morning, including the historic centre, Zócalo (the city’s main square), the Metropolitan Cathedral, and the National Palace which features murals by famous artist Diego Rivera. After, we make a stop at the Anthropological Museum, a place that after almost half century after its creation, still remains the most emblematic area that safeguards Mexico’s autochthonous legacy. In the evening, savour a tasty dinner at Bellini, the only revolving restaurant in Mexico City, offering incredible panoramic views overlooking the flashing lights of the city and both traditional Mexican and international flavours. Then we stop at Plaza Garibaldi, a nucleus of night-time activity, and a hugely popular place to enjoy the sights and sounds of mariachis accompanied by traditional dances and tasty drinks (one domestic drink included).

DAY 3 // MEXICO CITY: XOCHIMILCO & CANTINAS TOUR

The day starts with breakfast at the hotel before our first stop at Mercado Roma, a public gourmet food market where the din of traders and customers, the colours of the product and the aromas of freshly prepared food make for a truly Mexican experience. The market stalls offer organic and other food products, along with stalls that allows you to taste a variety of local and international cuisine such as pozole – a hominy-based soup, tacos, tapas, etc. After, we head to Xochimilco, declared by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site, and enjoy a traditional trajinera boat tour through the canals while you listen to Mexican music. Lunch included. After, we will go out on a cantina tour to some of the historic centre's most renowned traditional taverns.

DAY 4 // MEXICO CITY – QUERETARO WINE & CHEESE TOUR (215km – 3 hrs each way)

Have breakfast at the hotel. Between Tequisquiapan and Santiago de Queretaro, set in the middle of the plains, we can find several farms producing delicious Mexican and European artisan cheeses. On the Cheese Route, get an insight into the production process and taste the different types of cheeses produced. There are many organic ranches where animals are fed natural grass and grains and are raised hormone-free. Appropriately, the Cheese Route combines perfectly with Queretaro’s Wine Route. This region is also home to wine producers that open their doors to visitors and produce popular wines and cavas. Lunch is included before your return to Mexico City.

DAY 5 // DEPART MEXICO CITY

Breakfast at the hotel. Check out of your hotel and transfer to the Mexico City International Airport for your departure flight back home.
